In de januari classroom refereerde Karen naar dit boek van Dessa Hockley. Ik heb het opgezocht en het lijkt me een makkelijke manier om je paard te leren kennen. In het boek brengt ze verschillende eigenschappen bij elkaar tot een persoonlijkheidstype. Haar site is www.horsepersonality.comwaar ook een quiz opstaat. Als je de quiz maakt, komt het type er uit met een korte beschrijving. Een lange beschrijving kun je je toelaten sturen via email.

Ik kreeg net het mailtje binnen met de beschrijving van mijn The Reluctant Rock StarDie beschrijving is even kort/lang als de uitslag op de site. Natuurlijk verwijzen ze je nog wel even naar Amazon

Volgens deze test is Pias een Goddess! En eerlijk gezegd klopt de beschrijving heel aardig!

Hmmm, voor Moon kom ik ook uit op Goddess, niet zo waarschijnlijk, maar sommige vragen vond ik ook niet duidelijk gesteld, bv krijg je meer focus als je 20 minuten stapt aan een lange teugel? Moon is meestal al super gefocussed als je begint met rijden, dus sometimes ingevuld.

Susan en Spori komen ondanks soms best verschillende antwoorden toch allebei als People Pleasers uit de test.
Wat ik bottomline toch meer bij Spori vind passen dan bij Susan in sommige opzichten .

Ik ben zelf heel benieuwd wat de schrijfster aan zo'n type verbindt, in de zin van wat vindt je paard leuk of hoe kun je het beste contact met hem maken en hoe breng je het paard in balans als hij extremen heeft.

De test nogmaals gedaan, met nu stevig het beeld van Moon in mijn hoofd zoals hij nu weer is. Dan kom ik uit op Steady Eddy:

Low key, low energy, low expectations, are what you need to work successfully with this type of horse. The Lone Wolf is not bursting out of his stall to try to fit into your program and to please you. He is easily content and can do a good job for you as long as it is not demanding physically or emotionally. He likes his world predictable and safe. He would rather be a little bored than stressed. If repeatedly put into pressure situations he can react seemingly unpredictably. If you can find a quiet solid job for him, he will perform it repeatedly and safely.

Ik weet niet zeker of het klopt. Ik vond het ook lastig om de vragen te beantwoorden. Soms wist ik niet of ik moest antwoorden met hoe Easy nu doet na wat Parelli training of voor die tijd. Hij is wel onderzoekender geworden maar ik weet niet of dat dan echt in zijn aard zit of dat dat meer aangeleerd is.
